This landscape depicts a view of the Djerassi hills and La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve: the same view one sees when facing the painted end of this large redwood log. Created on-site, Untitled (Djerassi Log), has remained outdoors, weathered and altered over time by the environment. Unlike traditional paintings that are preserved and conserved, the life of this landscape is dictated by the eventual decay of the log on which it is painted.
