Early Warning Repeat is a wallpaper which subverts the notion of Hawai‘i as a passive and welcoming paradise by highlighting natural disasters that are entwined in my childhood memories and family stories. Images of rockslides, hurricanes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions form the repeat pattern – a reminder that respect and awareness of nature are an integral part of island life.
